 AREA OF EXPERTISE

Dr. Madhava completed his MBBS in 1990 from Mysore Medical College. He completed post-graduation in General Medicine (MD & DNB) from TN Medical College & BYL Nair Hospital, Mumbai in 1995. He underwent further training in General Medicine in UK and attained MRCP in 2000. He completed the 5 year Clinical Oncology Specialist Training and was awarded the CCST in 2005. Following completion of his training, he joined as Consultant Clinical Oncologist at Queen Alexandra Hospital, Portsmouth. He worked as consultant with special interest in Lung, GI malignancies, Urology & Hepato-billiary malignancies for 6 years before returning to India and joining HCG, Bangalore as a senior Consultant Medical Oncologist in September 2011. In HCG Bangalore as a clinical oncologist he practices both chemotherapy and radiation. He has worked as senior Consultant and Head of the Department of Medical Oncology for 5 years in BGS Global Hospital Bangalore. He has been a lead researcher and Principal Investigator for quite a few trials involving targeted therapies in Lung and other cancers for Indian patients while working in BGS hospital. With his extensive General Medicine and Clinical Oncology experience his strength is in accurate diagnosis of cancer, communication with patients & family, planning appropriate sequencing of treatment and delivering comprehensive care for patients with solid malignancies. He accepts most challenging cases and believes that there is always something can be done to improve the life of cancer patients. During this period in UK, he participated in various international trials as principal investigator and has publications in international journals.
